Plans and directs registration, patient insurance, billing and collections and data processing to ensure accurate patient billing and efficient account collection. Supervises, trains, orients, & evaluates performance and competency of assigned personnel. Directly manages 6-8 employees. Monitors daily operating activity of office and makes necessary adjustments in work assignments. Develops & implements new procedures to improve quality and quantity of work processed. Ensures policies are communicated and administered consistently. Other duties as assigned by the Clinic Administrator including supervising day-to-day clinic operations in the absence of Clinic Administrator.

Responsible for maximizing collection of all self-pay accounts in a timely manner. Processes accounts, contacts patients, answers questions and concerns involving billing issues. Identifies and addresses billing discrepancies, maintains accurate records of all account activities as well as strict confidentiality required related to medical records and other data. Minimum of two-years medical collection experience preferred. High school graduate or GED required.

Provides operational support to the FHS Population Health team by performing non-clinical tasks as assigned to address the population health needs of our primary care patient population. Generates and distributes population health reports. Calls patients and speaks with patients in the clinics to schedule wellness appointments and screenings. Identify patients overdue for AWV and those with missed appointments needing rescheduling. Confirms patient insurance benefit eligibility as requested. Enters and maintains documentation in the EHR meeting defined timeframes and performance standards. High school diploma required. Previous electronic medical record data entry, MS Word, and Excel experience required. Experience with Athena EMR is a plus. Must be available to travel to any of the four clinics and/or hospital as needed.

Assists in receiving, logging, and collecting specimens. Prepares specimens for technical testing. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol. Completes assignments in a dependable and timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records. Minimum of one year in health care setting preferred.

Assists in developing, implementing, and controlling the provisions of respiratory therapeutic patient care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital, the directives of the medical staff, The Joint Commission guidelines, and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for coordinating administration of oxygen, therapeutic gas, mist inhalation and managing respiratory equipment for patients in accordance with provider’s orders. Oversees scheduling, competencies, and quality of care of approximately 10 employees. Provides department support to Administration in the form of reports and collaboration towards the effort of improvement in services provided. Organizes and maintains minutes for meetings as they pertain to department goals and initiatives. Organizes and coordinates Field Health System’s staff education as it relates to BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC. Must maintain an active license to practice as a respiratory therapist in the State of Mississippi without restrictions. Current certifications for BLS and ACLS.

Manages and coordinates activities related to daily provider referrals in-house and outside facilities. Uses acquired knowledge and experience to facilitate scheduling appointments, referrals, pre/prior authorizations, and workers compensation benefits. Other duties assigned by Office Manager. Position will be primarily located in Gloster but will work with/at all FHS Rural Health Clinics (Liberty, Gloster & Centreville Clinics). Minimum of one year in health care setting preferred.

Responsible for the reconciliation of payments daily.  Assist with insurance claim follow ups, resubmits and payors.  Provides back up to charge entry, third party billing, insurance verification as assigned.  Must have excel and word experience.  Minimum of one-year medical office billing experience preferred.  High school graduate or GED required.
