Responsible for performing the following functions: discharge analysis, deficiency checks, release of information, reporting, chart filing, chart location and other duties and responsibilities. The job should be performed accurately and complete in compliance with the hospital’s bylaws, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization and state requirements.

Responsible for performing all laboratory procedures and for use of computer system for order entry and test reporting. Performs instrument maintenance and quality control in each area. Communicates regularly with Laboratory Services Manager and Clinic Administrator. Responsible for inventory control. Responsible for laboratory Continuing Education program.

 

Responsible for identifying and meeting with patients regarding patient accounts and business office issues. Assists patients with inquiries on accounts and insurance claims, obtaining disability insurance benefits, FHS Financial Assistance Program, setting up individual payment terms and verifying current insurance coverage(s). Minimum of two year experience in a health care organization.

Coordinates total nursing care of patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Qualifications: Current Mississippi License or current temporary license with stated expiration date mandatory. BLS required. Obtains ACLS within six months and TNCC within eighteen months of service. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as required.
