Today MSDH is reporting an additional 1,643 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 10 deaths. Six deaths occurred between July 28 and July 29, and an additional four deaths occurred between July 18 and July 21, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases is now 343,505, with 7,543 deaths.

Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 20 additional COVID-19 cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and no deaths. There are currently 108 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.

Vaccination against COVID-19 is free, safe and is proving very effective at preventing illness, hospitalization and death. Today MSDH is reporting an additional 1,908 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and four deaths. One death occurred on July 27. Three additional deaths occurred between June 27 and July 21, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases is now 341,862, with 7,533 deaths.

Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 10 additional COVID-19 cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and no additional deaths. There are currently 103 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
